Inspired by this unique view, we designed two ground floor houses, a swimming pool with an outdoor bar and a parking space, respecting the environment.   The two houses are joined together by a semi-open space, which functions as the main space for the distribution of movements to and from them. Still, this unique view, that works as a point of departure to the sea, connects visually and audibly the two houses with the pool water, creating scenes from the inside out, a sense of play with nature. An outdoor bar serves the pool area (and not only), which is protected by the air with a perimeter glazing, from where the look, either from inside the pool or out on the deck chairs, travels to the endless blue. These homes were constructed on a seaside plot, in compliance with the provisions required by the decree applicable in the area, including the distances from the shoreline and beach line. The building volume unfolds on two levels following the natural relief, while the construction was made with traditional materials and by the traditional way and philosophy, but with the technology of today. The skeleton of the buildings is made of reinforced concrete, the outer and inner walls have a cross section of 60 and 30 cm respectively and house music system installations (indoors and outdoors). On the roof of the buildings there is a waterproofing and thermal insulation, as well as a thermo window. The plaster used is white with guides, while the frames (exterior and interior) are wooden. Different quality materials were chosen for each space: the flooring of the dining room features large ceramic tiles, while the rooms feature wooden nailed floors; solid marble stands in the kitchens, while the bathrooms present marble and cement mortar. The cooling and heating of the buildings operates with a heat pump (the latest technology in energy saving), while all the equipment (heating and cooling pumps, etc.) are located in a separated room, with a roof covered with wooden boards in order to achieve natural passive ventilation. Along the perimeter, the site is planted in harmony with the natural landscape.  Under the houses there is a basement area that features a garage, a storage area, an engine room for water tank, a home cinema, a bathroom and a billiard room. Behind the basement area and next to the engine room there is a reservoir for the collection of rainwater, which is used for watering the garden and the surrounding area. Also, the sewage is treated and used for irrigation. The inner courtyard that connects the outer volumes is covered by processed stone slabs in white-beige shades that absorb the sun's heat, creating a pleasant microclimate for those sitting outdoors. Additionally, in the pool area, a wooden deck is placed for aesthetic reasons, creating a visual color play with the stone plates and the pool water, in natural continuity with the sea and the sky. In general, the construction has been designed in an attempt to integrate as much as possible materials (insulation, cooling, etc.) that guarantee the best energy savings and therefore buildings are classified as high-energy (class A).
